What We Believe

The Bethel Malayalam Church, Vikaspuri, New Delhi - comes under the spiritual and administrative leadership of the Church of North India, Delhi Diocese. Even then it has a legacy to tell about spiritual nourishment that it has received from the six CSI Dioceses in Kerala, particularly the CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese.

The Bethel Malayalam Church, Vikaspuri (BMC) affirms that the purpose of its existence is to fulfill the priestly prayer of Jesus Christ, the Lord of the Church "That they all may be one, and that the world may believe that you have sent me" as was rightly taught and practiced by the Church of South India, and following the principles of 'Unity, Witness and Service', practiced by the Church of North India to become an effective instrument of God's mission so there will be greater peace, closer fellowship and fuller life in the Church and a renewed commitment for the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through word and deed.

Lambeth Quadrilateral is a four-point articulation of Anglican identity, often cited as encapsulating the fundamentals of the Communion's doctrine and as a reference-point for ecumenical discussion with other Christian denominations. The four points are:

  1. The Holy Scriptures, as containing all things necessary to salvation;
  2. The Creeds (specifically, the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds), as the sufficient statement of Christian faith;
  3. The Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion;
  4. The historic episcopate, locally adapted.
